Grant - Garden Birds
« on: November 25, 2013, 06:38:29 AM »
A few months back we bought a bird feeder for the garden. It started off slowly but eventually attracted a fair variety of "customers".

and then the brat arrived, a Pin Tail Whydah. Chases all other birds away from the feeder but I have yet to see him sit at the feeder and eat.

I have been trying to get a pic Whydah in flight for a while now. He is very quick and unpredictable but eventually got it right.
I started with the 16:9 crop

and then tried a 1:1 crop as suggested by Colyn

I know that Pintail well ... that is how they work ... chase everything away.

Mine had a tragic case of supersonic projectile infection :( ... it was a sad day for him but a great day for all the others :)
Capture it when you see it ... it is a mere moment in time and will never come by again.
